The Virginia Legacy has recently had 8 players invited to the U.S. Soccer Federation Training Center in Williamsburg, VA this month. Since then, we have had 7 of those players called back to recieve more training and 1 additional player given their first invitation to take part in the U.S. Training program. Stephen Cooper, Alexxio Gonzalez, Samuel Haley, Isaiah McGee, Michael Meese, Ryan Post, Josuha Yi have all been invited back, and congratulations to Edward Fiocca for his new invitaiton. The U.S. Soccer Training Centers are designed to replicate national team training camps. As the national governing body of soccer in the United States, and under the auspices of the United States Olympic Committee, the Training Centers are empowered and charged with developing the teams that represent the United States in all international competitions such as the Olympics and World Cup. The Training Center Program is an integral part of the process of selecting the upcoming National Team Pool for all age groups. Players who perform well at the training centers will be invited back to future centers in the following months.
