01' Boys Earns Milestone CCL League Finish
Williamsburg Va. - The Virginia Legacy would like to congratulate the U16(2001) Elite Boys on their recent Club Champions League championship. Playing in a group of 16 teams from across all of Virginia and Maryland – the Legacy team comprised of 18 boys from all over the tidewater area (9 area high schools) - went 13-1-1 during the season that runs August to February. During the route to the division championship – they defeated State Champions – Arlington Red as well as other high profile state contenders. In the Fall the Legacy 01 Boys reached the semi-finals of the state championships, losing in Overtime 1-0 to McLean Soccer Club. Technical Director Bobby O’Brien had this to say “This is a great accomplishment for this team and this club. This is the first division win for any high school aged team in whats regarded widely as the top league in Virginia, Maryland and even the entire region. I am very happy for these boys as every week they had to show up to play at a very high level against the best teams in the state and region and they proved themselves well.”
