With his second consecutive selection by the Capital Athletic Conference, Christopher Newport senior forward Jalon Brown became the first player in program history to earn three Conference Player of the Year honors in his career. CNU's all-time scoring leader is the fourth player in CAC history to repeat as the Men's Soccer Player of the Year, and headlines a CAC-high six All-Conference selections for the Captains this year.
Brown, a two-time All-American up front, saved his finest season for last with a career-high 42 points so far this season. He has led the league in goals scored and points throughout the season, and ranks ninth nationally in goals scored with 18. He has chipped in six assists and ranks 15th nationally in total points, leading one of the nation's most dominant offensive teams this season. The Yorktown, Va. native has scored at least one point in 16 games this season and has factored into multiple goals five times. Twice he posted a hat trick, giving him three for his career.
Alec Faulkner - also a senior Legacy Alum - earns his third straight first team All-Conference selection after again anchoring a strong defensive unit. This season, the senior defender has played a team-high 2,144 minutes, missing just over 11 minutes of action in a blowout victory over Marymount. He has played wire-to-wire in every other contest, including four double-overtime complete games this season. He has helped the CNU defense post eight shutouts and hold opponents to just 7.2 shots per game. Against conference opponents, the CNU defense posted a 1.03 goals against average.
