LEGACY 76 REMAINS UNBEATEN

Williamsburg Va. - The Legacy 76 took the field again this afternoon hosting Frederick FC from Maryland in the second game of the season. Frederick FC started off pressing really hard putting Legacy 76 under pressure early with a couple of opportunities to go ahead. Finally a break through came for your Legacy 76 as the William & Mary player Reilly Maw received the ball from the midfield and threaded a great through ball behind the Frederick FC defense to Christopher Newport University player Henry Gotay to make it 1-0 in the 25th minute. The game went back and forth throughout the half with both teams getting opportunities. The second half was intense to start off with Legacy 76 picking up the intensity even more putting Frederick FC under the pressure. To keep the momentum going Legacy 76 brought on William Cooke a Virginia Wesleyan standout in the 50th minute along with Jeremy Booker a future Chowan University soccer player in the 55th minute. Finally Legacy 76 struck again with another goal by Henry Gotay in the 60th minute. A corner kick was played out to OluwaKorede Olateru-Olagbegi a William and Mary soccer player who clipped an early ball into Gotay for a first time finish into the low corner. Being down 2-0 Frederick FC kept trying to press but just couldn’t find the back of the net. Joseph Ghitis the goal keeper from University Nebraska Omaha had a clean sheet with a few saves. The Legacy 76 improve to 1-0-1 on the season. Legacy 76 will host ASA Charge June 4 at Wanner Stadium at 6PM.
