Legacy Players Train with Navy SEALs

This week the VLSC had the opportunity to send 30 of its U15-U18 players for a day of mental and physical training with the US Navy SEAL and SWCC Scout Team.  The 30 young boys spent the day in the pool doing a variety of team building activities to build awareness, teamwork and confidence.  After the team building portion - the boys took to the obstacle course.  A ropes course suspended 20-30 feet above the pool with a variety of rope swings, ladder climbs, rope climbs, rings, and monkey bars.

The course started with a rope swing off the high platform that led to a cargo net the boys had to jump onto.  The day proved to be very fun, but also very tough as the kids were challenged and taken out of their comfort zone and forced them to rely on their inner strength, mental toughness, teamwork abilities, and their own confidence to succeed in getting through the obstacles.  At the end of the pool session the boys were given a short speech on life, adversity, teamwork, sportsmanship and mental toughness from one of the former Navy SEALs who was also a former Division 1 soccer player a the US Naval Academy.

All in all, it was an excellent experience for our players that was taxing, both mentally and physically, but left them with great memories and day they'll never forget.
